Abstract: 

Calcified amorphous tumor of the heart (cardiac cat) is a rare non- neoplastic cardiac mass with unknown pathogenesis, 12 cases of which have been reported so far. This report presents a 73 year old woman with chest pain complaint continuing since last year. Workup revealed left atrium mass of posterior wall origin. The specimen was a solid calcified nodule with firm consistency and 2.5cm in diameter. Microscopic examination revealed fibrohyalinizing lesion with extensive calcium deposits, chronic inflammatory infiltration and blood elements. The lesion is diagnosed as calcified amorphous tumor of the heart.

Abstract: 

Application of regulators in production of pot plants have been increasing due to lowering growth, improving branching and the number of flowering branches. In order to study the effect of levels and application method of trinexapac-ethyl regulator on height control and morphophysiological characteristics and flowering of Zinnia elegans, a factorial experiment based on completely randomized design with three replications was performed. Zinnias seedlings were planted in polyethylene pots and subjected to trinexapac-ethyl with levels of zero, 2×10-3, 1×10-3, 0.5×10-3 and 4.5×10-4 g when the first bud emerged. Trinexapac-ethyl was applied in both foliar spray and soil application. According to the results, 1×10-3 and 2×10-3g trinexapac-ethyl caused significant reduction in plant height. As trinexapac-ethyl level increased, number of branches and flowers were increased accordingly most of which was under the latter treatment. Branch length and leaf number was not affected. The concentrations 1×10-3 and 2×10-3g increased chlorophyll and shoots sugars, but not on root. Similarly, soil application of Trinexapac-ethyl did not showed positive effects. In light of obtained results, foliar spray application of Trinexapac-ethyl may serve as a suitable way to produce dwarf and pot Zinnia elegans  ‘state fair mix’. Based on the obtained results, application of Trinexapac-ethyl as foliar application can control and reduce the height of the Zinnia elegans ‘state fair mix’.

Abstract: 

In this research, atom-cavity entanglement in closed Jaynes – Cumming model has been used with the assumption of large detuning between atom and cavity, to simulate the state transfer from atom to cavity radiation. A two-level atom which is prepared in a half-half superposition between the ground and excited states, has been exposed to initially coherent radiation field which is far from resonance with the atom. Mixture of each subsystem, linear entropy, entanglement, Von Neumann entropy and Schmidt decomposition of composite system as a function of time, has been determined analytically, for the first time. Assuming large frequency differences between atom and radiation, the simulation is shown no energy is transferred between atom and radiation due to large detuning, even though atom-radiation entanglement took place. Also, it has been shown that a particular measurement on the atom in this composite entangled system, can project the composite system into a separable (non-entangled) state so that the radiation state is changed into a superposition of the coherent state which is called the cat state. The conditions required to transfer radiation into odd and even cat states have been particularly investigated.

Abstract: 

catastrophe bonds are among the essential instruments in providing a financial hedge for insurance companies and their policyholders. catastrophic events are rare, and the shortage of data turns using probability theory indefensible. On the other hand, uncertainty theory is a reliable alternative to deal with these kinds of indeterminacies. We model the problem of pricing catastrophe bonds as an uncertain optimization problem where the maximization of the cedent insurance company’s profit is constrained to the uncertain measure of ruin defined for the investors. Consequently, one could provide a tradeoff between being profitable for the ceding company and having reasonable protection for the investors. A solution to the optimization problem will be considered as the spread over the LIBOR, leading to a complete determination of the bond price. The results suggest the practicality of the model, especially the application of uncertainty theory in pricing catastrophe bonds. Finally, the uncertain ruin index is calculated for a real-world problem, and the results are compared with those obtained by probability theory.

Abstract: 

The aim of this paper is to introduce the notion of cat1−, groupoids which are the groupoid version of cat1−, groups and to prove the categorical equivalence between crossed modules over groupoids and cat1−, groupoids. In section 4 we introduce the notions of crossed squares over groupoids and of cat2−, groupoids, and then we show their categories are equivalent. These equivalences enable us to obtain more examples of groupoids.
